DBT skills class for teens (Virtual)

Mind Body Seven is pleased to offer teens the opportunity to learn practical skills to manage stress and cope with distress.

Day/Time: Tuesdays 6.30 - 7.30pm

Dates: April 12th - May 17th, 2022 (*NO class on April 19th)

Co-leaders: Beth Wecksell, PsyD (she/her) and Amanda Borson, LCSW (she/her)

Where: virtual interactive classes on Zoom

The DBT Skill of Mindfulness develops the ability to observe individual thoughts and feelings to lessen stress, provide perspective and enable effective use of the other categories of DBT Skills.

5 week module

★ includes Mindfulness practice plus one of three rotating categories:

➢ Distress Tolerance Skills augment coping and tolerance of distress to target habits of avoidance that are unhelpful.

➢ Emotion Regulation Skills focus on increasing positive emotions and changing automatic emotional reactions to more effective responses.

➢ Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills provide practical communication principles that decrease conflict and improve communication and mutual understanding.

All are encouraged to participate in each module.

If you're not able to attend the next module, you can join that module category when it's offered again in the future.

What is needed to participate?

  1. Participating individuals committed to weekly attendance and practice of skills for the 6 classes of a module.

  2. Cost for each 60-minute class: $125 per week for every week of the module
